Mary brings a wealth of experience and artistic enthusiasm to her work. Mary’s life is a beautiful blend of artistic creation and dedicated teaching. Mary finds solace and expression in her own studio, where she creates stunning watercolor paintings. She finds the complexity and unpredictability of the watercolor medium satisfying and lets the media inform her intuitive painting practice. Her works have been described as moody with a pop of color. Mary has exhibited at Panza Gallery, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, Mercyhurst University, Borelli Cellars, Manos Gallery, and Atithi Gallery. For two decades, Mary has nurtured her own artistic practice as well as the creativity of artists of all ages. She has honed her teaching skills at various prestigious art organizations in the Pittsburgh area, including Chartiers Valley School District, Atithi Studios, Scotland Yards, Workshop Pittsburgh, Chatham Art and Music Day Camp, Center for Creativity at AIU, and Sweetwater Center for the Arts. Born and raised in Washington, PA, Mary’s artistic journey began in high school, where she eagerly pursued every art elective available. College broadened her horizons, as she explored ceramics, drawing, art history, and printmaking. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Master of Science in Art Curriculum K-12 from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and is a certified Art K-12 teacher by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. However, her greatest joy came from sharing her artistic knowledge and talents with others. This passion for fostering creativity led her to a fulfilling career in art education. When she’s not immersed in the world of art, Mary cherishes time spent with her children, family, and friends in her beloved Pittsburgh, PA.
