I am a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, but I studied Commercial art, not fine arts. I am pretty much self taught. Although I always got A’s in art, I learned some techniques by watching the TV artists. I have taught some Paint N sip classes when they were popular, and was a regular artist at the Frank Sarris Library before the pandemic. I have also sold some items at local gift shops. I started painting with oils, then later in life was introduced to acrylics, which I like better. I was not able to paint for many years while I was raising a family. Painting is not a business for me, just a hobby done on a small scale.
